Room 27 Newsletter
This is the text of the newsletter that went home this week. And no, yesterday, you did not have no homework! Homework right now consists of getting ready for our many upcoming deadlines...
Welcome to a new term!
Term two brings lots of worthwhile projects, trips and challenges. We will be completing our study of History partway through the term and beginning Geography during the second part of term two. Students will have in-class time to help finish the many deadlines and projects due this term. They should bring in research from home and from the public library so that they can use class work periods effectively.
Here are some upcoming events and deadlines to keep in mind:
Quebec trip deposits are due Friday Dec. 19, 2008
IPRC response forms due Friday Dec. 19, 2008
Speech Arts: Students should be choosing their topic this week (by Fri. Dec. 19)
Speech Arts: In-class work time Jan. 5-9
Speeches due Jan 12. Students do either format A (non-fiction) or C (Dramatic non-original) For each format, the text of the speech and the presentation are due the same day)
Science Fair Open House for parents Thursday Feb. 26, 2009
Historica Fair – our class presentations will take place Jan. 26-30. Students should have rough drafts, notes and bibliographies to show me between Jan. 19-20.

NFB
Shan and Connor came from the National Film Board of Canada on Dec. 11 & 12. They presented an intensive hands-on filmmaking workshop. In two days, we conceived, filmed and edited a complete public announcement video. We think you will be extremely impressed by the results! Watch for permission forms soon. Parents, we need your permission to enter our finished video in the National Stop Racism Now! Contest. The top prize is a trip to Ottawa. Many of the best entries will appear on television and the internet. If you are interested in past winners, see the website at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/march-21-mars/index-eng.asp
I hope you and your families have a safe, relaxing holiday season.
Best wishes,
M. Wentz

No Homework Except Health
Today's homework is....
sadly, not homework, again.
- Except the eating plan critic checklist sheet, that is
That is all. Oh woe is me. There is barely any homework.
And I am terribly sorry for not putting this on the last blog. It slipped my mind.

No Homework!
Today's homework is.....
NO HOMEWORK! Just remember to bring things in for the party and secret Santa.
- also, remember there's the Woburn concert tomorrow
- the skiing/snowboarding/skating trip on Wednesday
- dance on Thursday
- party's date is undetermined
And from now on, I've decided to introduce something called "Say of the Day." This is when you can send a good quote (that is quoted) or a riddle to my alternate email at spitz.lover@hotmail.com to get your say of the day posted. Thanks!
